Why Acreo?
ACREO is designed as an assessment tool - our goal is to help you identify meaningful data around your students’ experience by measuring what students gain through distinct facets of your residential program. We are confident that results from this survey can help inform decisions on your campus at local and macro levels.
ACREO is led by Laura S. Dahl, Ph.D., assistant professor in the School of Education at North Dakota State University, and draws from the knowledge of seasoned residential life and housing professionals as well as scholars of student learning and development. The study is based on the information gathered from an empirically validated measure of college student experiences with residential programs. Its status as a multi-institution study allows for national and peer-level benchmarking. As a multi-institutional study, we occupy the intersection of assessment, research, and evaluation to help you make evidence-based decisions.
The ACREO research team will provide the survey instrument as well as ongoing, individualized support to campuses to ensure ease of administration. Each participating campus will be partnered with a dedicated liaison on the research team to assist with execution.
The survey itself is conducted through a simple online interface and will be administered to students during the Spring semester based on your schedule. The process is designed to be straightforward, with a minimal impact on time and resources for participating campuses.
